An Exclusive NYC Experience for SVA Alumni

Experience the magic of the Metropolitan Opera from the inside. This SVA program selects four outstanding alumni singers for a long weekend in New York City filled with world-class performances, professional development, and invaluable networking opportunities. Participants will enjoy tickets to multiple Met productions, a master class with renowned faculty, and exclusive access to industry professionals. SVA provides single hotel accommodations, meal stipends, and all program activities—making this an unforgettable career-building opportunity for emerging opera artists.

Eligibility

  • Must be a current SVA Alum (participated in a program in 2024-25 season or earlier)
  • Open to singers enrolled in a university program as a 4th/5th year undergrad or Masters Students studying Vocal Performance or Music Education

Cost

  • Single hotel accommodations, meal stipends, teaching/pianists fees, and performance tickets provided by SVA

  • Singers are responsible for travel to and from NYC
  • No application fees
  • Upon acceptance, singers must pay a $250 deposit, which will be returned at the completion of the program. If the singer cancels less than three weeks before the program, they forfeit the deposit

Application Process

  • Applications open on August 25, deadline of October 10
  • Singers must submit a completed application form which includes a recent recording of an operatic aria and resume
  • Four accepted singers will be contacted by the middle of November. Alternates will also be selected.
  • Applicants will need to complete the application form and provide one video performance of an operatic aria, a resume, and one reference
