Are you ready to go all-in for this singing thing?
Then pack your bags and join us June 15 through June 29, 2025 for Schmidt Vocal Institute 2025!
Serious high school singers like you from across the country who are ready to take the plunge into this two-week immersive experience will enjoy lessons with esteemed professional artists, master classes with world-renowned performers, and dorm living with like-minded musicians. Located at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Schmidt Vocal Institute (SVI) will help you become a better artist and gain both confidence and a newfound vision for what it takes to have a career as a professional singer.
Some of the training you’ll benefit from includes: lessons and coachings, participation in master classes, courses in acting, lyric diction, vocal health, college audition preparation, historic performances, and stage craft. Also, we believe that one of the best tools to help you improve as a singer is to give you the chance to, well, sing! You’ll have performance opportunities in recitals and master classes.
You’ll also get to work, one-on-one with some of classical music’s celebrities, such as artists like Brian Zeger and Margo Garrett from The Juilliard School, Stanford Olsen from the University of Michigan, and Grammy-award winning vocalist, Sylvia McNair, to name a few. 2025 guest faculty will include Baritone Gordon Hawkins (Arizona State University), Soprano Julia Faulkner (Ryan Opera Center & Curtis Institute), and Soprano Ana María Martínez (Rice University).
Since the program’s inception in 2016, more than 275 young singers have participated in the Schmidt Vocal Institute. They loved it and you will, too. But don’t take our word for it, let them tell you themselves.
