At Schmidt Vocal Arts, our pride in our alumni runs deep.
Schmidt Vocal Arts’ programs have been serving singers for more than two decades. That means there are many great singers who are now part of the Schmidt Alumni Network. Our alumni come from almost all 50 states, have attended premier universities and conservatories, and many enjoy successful careers in the arts.
The Schmidt Alumni Network is a vibrant and interconnected group of vocal artists who share a passion for classical singing. From initial connections made through Schmidt Vocal Arts programs, alumni continue to share news of auditions, events, tips, and more through social media.
Who Are SVA Alumni?
Alumni are singers who have participated in a High School or Undergraduate Schmidt Vocal Competition or attended the Schmidt Vocal Institute.
Only alumni are eligible for alumni programs, grants, and special opportunities.

Jazz Theater at Mannes School of Music in New York
In November 2019, Schmidt Vocal Arts welcomed renowned pianist, Margo Garrett, to our first-ever alumni master class. Five SVA alumni performed with Brent Funderburk, pianist, at the Jazz Theater at Mannes School of Music in New York, followed by a reception with alumni and teachers from the Schmidt Vocal Artist network.

Oberlin Alumni Luncheon
There are so many Schmidt Vocal Arts alumni at Oberlin! Current Obies got together to swap Schmidt stories at a luncheon in February of 2020. Executive Director Linda McAlister was also able to be a fly on the wall at a few voice lessons of Schmidt alumni!
