A native Floridian, Brie Williams moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to work with Schmidt Vocal Arts in August 2019. Ms. Williams is an emerging arts administrator and advocate. Ms. Williams has spent several years working with nonprofit arts organizations, including community theatres, museums, and galleries. She has previously served as treasurer on the board of directors for 621 Gallery, a contemporary art space with a focus on promoting new works from emerging visual and performance artists. In 2019, she earned the Florida Higher Education Arts Network’s award for advocacy in the arts in Florida’s capital city of Tallahassee. She studied Visual Arts, Marketing, and Leadership Studies at the University of Central Florida, where she explored leadership practices for effective community service in the arts. She holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from Florida State University. At Florida State University, she served as the Department of Art Education’s first recruitment assistant, creating engagement programs to reach new potential M.A. candidates. In addition to arts advocacy, Ms. Williams volunteers with hunger and homelessness organizations to provide meals for those in need. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her fiancé, hiking, and visiting museums.
