Art Williford is a pianist and composer from Houston, Texas. He completed his undergraduate studies at Eastman before coming to NYC to study at Juilliard. This May, he completed his DMA at Juilliard, where he was a CV Starr Doctoral Fellow; his dissertation was awarded the French Prize. He is now on the faculty of Juilliard, teaching classes in Music History. He also serves as the pianist for Juilliard’s conducting program, under Alan Gilbert and now David Robertson. In the summers, he is on the faculty of the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie in Germany, where he works as a vocal coach.
