Megan Clewell is Assistant Teaching Professor of Vocal Coaching and Collaborative Piano at the UMKC Conservatory. Before joining the faculty at UMKC, she held positions at the University of Central Oklahoma and Knox College. While at UCO, she served as coach for numerous shows and projects, including the American Prize-winning productions of Così fan tutte (2020) and The Consul (2023). She was also a founding member of UCO’s Akouo Trio, which commissioned and performed new works for horn chamber ensemble. Clewell’s extensive experience includes playing for prestigious organizations, including Tulsa Opera Young Artists, Painted Sky Opera, OK City Opera, Opera North (NH), Enid Symphony, Knox Galesburg Symphony, and Nova Singers. Her festival engagements include the Saarburg and Vianden International Music Festivals, Clear Creek Music Festival, International Horn Symposium, International Women’s Brass Conference, and the Oklahoma Haydn Festival. Clewell holds degrees from Arizona State University and the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music.
